Alba Nueva is a specialty blend put together by mate sommelier Karla Johan, and it tastes like someone spent time on it. Medium grind, more leaf and less stem than the big supermarket brands, unsmoked. Dry it smells of dried herbs and light brown sugar; in the gourd it opens with soft tannins and finishes long and gently bitter. A step up if you already drink mate every day. Traditional cut with stems, 500g.
