Our story

A true family business

Two generations of the Mellicovsky family, baking by hand in the heart of Amsterdam since 1999. From one of the city's first espresso bars to fresh cookies, alfajores and dulce de leche, every day.

  1. 1999

A juice bar on this very spot

Argentine entrepreneur Guillermo Mellicovsky opens a small juice bar in the heart of Amsterdam. The start of everything.

  2. 2003

    Melly's Cookiebar

One of the first espresso bars in the city, pairing Italian-roasted Arcaffé coffee with Argentine alfajores, dulce de leche and yerba mate.

  3. 2015

    The next generation

Guillermo returns to Argentina and his nephew Daniel takes over. Rita teaches him every recipe by hand, so the cookies and alfajores stay exactly as hers.

  4. 2019

    Melly's Stroopwafels

The juices make way for warm stroopwafels, pressed fresh on the iron next door. Same hands, same passion, made fresh every day.

Thank you for being part of it

Thousands of warm stroopwafels and happy faces later, we are still here on the same spot. Come visit, order to your door, or make your own at a workshop. The story continues with you.
